I don't know why is it that I think I can pick up a piece of equipment and think I can just feel around in the dark and eventually know how to use it. I just can't stand reading manuals I suppose. That kind of attitude might work for simple tools but definitely not a camaera.
No manual yet though. I finally got around to reading Jodie Coston's free online photography course. Baby steps.
So now, I know the basics of working the manual settings of my camera, I won't have any trouble with grain and motion blur. (hopefully)

Got my macro filter this morning! Going to try it out today.
The F717 is not a dSLR so can only play with filters for now, which I'm fine with until I get more familiar with photography :)

Excellent! I really want to improve my photography skills, and like you want to master the manual settings on my camera. Is this the course you mean?
